Xaire, O Livejournal! Classics macros? Seriously? This community is my dream come true.

If you haven't encountered it yet through loltheorists or lolauthors, watch this statim. It's a very special animated macro-retelling of the Odyssey. Well, not exactly the Odyssey...

Warning: loud and slightly barbarous.

I fail a LOL speak even though I love it.

Whenever I see your/you're abbreviated as ur, I automatically think of Ur.

So, a macro.

(And I'm not trying to start a political debate with this. Really.)

I was inspired by the last macro to do a post of 300 macros that I have blatantly stolen from around the internet without credit.

Click for some (but certainly not all) of my favorites.Collapse )

First post. Hope you like :)

(Not sure if it fits 100%, since the Spatha isn't a classics weapon per definiton, but since it was also used by the Roman army, I hope it's okay)

Because who wouldn't love an adorable little puppy dog?

So, we need a Latin - lolcat dictionary...

Posted by kateyvic on 2008.01.10 at 18:51
So, I have been putting some thought into how to put lolcat speak into Latin. To be more specific, the phrase "DO NOT WANT."

NOLO is the obvious choice, but it has the unfortunate fact of being grammatically correct. NOLI or NOLITE might work, but those are 2nd person imperatives and I think that DO NOT WANT is implied as being a first person singular.

So, let's go back to nolo and make it incorrect. Would NON VOLO work? Not entirely incorrect, but at the same time not?

And, yes, I am aware that I have been putting entirely too much thought into this. But what do all of YOU think?

A macro to make this legal. Nevermind that I am the moderator and can do as I please.Collapse )
